With technology and very expensive stuff all over the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show, we couldn’t help making a double-take when we saw this item.
It’s called The Pocket Tee Pouch and it immediately brings to mind images of those “Geeks Only” plastic pen pouches that line a shirt pocket.
Now golf has its own version of the Geeks Only Pen Pouch.
First thing we asked ourselves: What else can you buy in this place for $5. The answer is basically nothing.
But that’s what this invention goes for.
The folks showing it off say it solves the problem of those sharp tees stabbing you through your pants pocket or stabbing your finger when you reach in there to grab one. So basically it’s a problem-solver if you’ve ever had that issue. Can’t say we have in five decades of playing the game.
The pouch allows for five tees and it accommodates different length tees, long and short.
Had to admire the innovation. Only problem is, that like they say on Shark Tank, this looks like more of a hobby than a business.
You wonder how many of these they can sell?
But hey, it’s only five bucks, about the same price as one of those pricey golf balls from the big boys.

I suspect this tee gadget will end up in every goodie bag at every charity golf outing. I get the concept but seems like one more gadget to keep track of and fumble around with.
Can’t imagine the venture capitalists are fighting for a stake in this just yet.

It was so nice in Tampa yesterday that I snuck out and got in 12 holes. Never had a problem with the tees in my pocket, but I do admire the folks that leased a small display booth at the show for a “Geek Guard” for tees…..
