The Saturday decision at The Kentucky Derby was beyond egregious.
Awful, horrible, terrible, beyond description.
For the first time in its long, storied history, the winner of the Run For The Roses didn’t get the roses.
Real winner Maximum Security was given the maximum Bronx cheer by the Churchill Downs stewards, who overturned the race result and declared Country Shack, er, Country House, the winner.
This one defies all that is good in sports of any sort, football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, golf, soccer, all sports.
So the Churchill Downs Stewards were sent immediately to The Dog House.
There was only one problem — the dogs thought it was a major insult to them and gave the stewards the immediate boot back out of The Dog House.
It was, of course, a first in Dog House history.
Fitting, wasn’t it?
