The Coca-Cola Company firmly believes that Jordan Spieth, like Coke, is “the real thing.”
The Atlanta-based soft-drink behemoth ponied up some serious money on Wednesday to make Spieth one of its major brand ambassadors.
How lucrative is this deal for Spieth? Of course Coke isn’t talking numbers but word on the street is that Spieth hauled in a deal similar to the one given basketball superstar LeBron James. James signed a deal with Coca-Cola that was reported to be worth $2 to $2.5 million over six years.
That means another $12-$15 million for Jordy over the next half-dozen years.
In addition to the flagship drink, Spieth will no doubt be guzzling PowerAde while he’s on the golf course. That is Coke’s flagship sports drink.
