When all was said and done in Singapore on Monday, Jordan Spieth’s late rally wasn’t good enough.
Spieth, who drove the ball poorly most of the week, used 30 or more putts the first three rounds and generally looked like he had his “D” game, proved how good he really is.
Spieth had to get up on Monday and show up at the Sentosa Golf Club to hole a five-foot birdie putt at the 72nd hole. That’s it, just a single putt. That birdie got him to 11-under par after he shot a five-under par 66.
He waited while Younghan Song played his final three holes in even par to win for the first time on the Asian Tour.
Song’s one-under par 70 got him to 12-under, one better than Spieth.
China’s Liang Wen-cheng took solo third at 10-under.
This ends Spieth’s round-the-world (appearance fee) tour. He’ll fly back to the United States, get a week of rest then tee it up in two weeks at the AT&T at Pebble Beach.
