Need a little golf on television fix but don’t want to waste a nice afternoon watching the Byron Nelson?
The European Tour has exactly what you need — The Irish Open!
Great setting this week — The K-Club in County Kildare.
Some good names, you’ve got Masters champ Danny Willett and host Rory McIlroy as the headliners. This one benefits The Rory Foundation and you can guess who heads that up.
There are some other pretty good names — Graeme McDowell, Paddy Harrington, Shane Lowry — and for our money, it’s always fun watching the European Tour. A little coffee, a little golf, it’s all good.
You’ve also got the developing plot in the Race To Dubai. Last year McIlroy beat out Willett, who basically forced McIlroy to win in Dubai to take the overall title.
This year, Willett has a boat-load of confidence after winning The Green Jacket and he’s sure putting better than McIlroy, as is the rest of the world.
The K-Club is a great setting, great scenery.
So get up early and enjoy!
