Yes, Rickie Fowler is an elite golfer but he’s also pretty good at simply hanging out.
It didn’t take long for the NBC cameras to find Fowler as the United States team marched in the opening ceremonies.
It also didn’t take Rickie long to hang with the stars like Michael Phelps, the most decorated athlete in modern Olympic history.
It helps that Phelps also enjoys play golf and has the long arms and frame to launch monster drives.
“The Olympics is something I’ve always enjoyed,” Fowler said on Friday night. “It’s been pretty cool so far. Before golf came in, it was kind of a dream that I couldnt’ make come true and now it’s become possible.”
Fowler will have a lot of time to hang out, the golf competition doesn’t start until later next week.
