They played from dawn to dusk on Saturday at the John Deere but the tournament is finally back on schedule.
Ryan Moore is the leader at 18-under par through 54 holes and his group finished in the dark late Saturday so they would not have to play one hole early Sunday.
Moore shot a third straight 65 and he will take a one-shot lead into Sunday’s final 18.
Morgan Hoffman and Ben Martin are right behind him. Both shot 62s on a day when players were allowed to lift-clean-and-place their golf balls after nearly four inches of rain hit the TPC Deere Run on Thursday and Friday.
Saturday was a perfect day and Hoffman made six straight birdies on the final nine starting at the 11th hole for his 62.
Ben Martin birdied four of the last five for his nine-under round.
The field played in threesomes and went off both tees to get the second round finished then went right back out and got the thirdround in despite the darkness that hit the final two groups.
