We now turn things over to Tiger Woods’ best friend in the media — Brandel Chamblee of The Golf Channel.
This withdrawal from the Safeway Championship by Woods has drawn opinion from all corners of the golf world.
So let’s see what Chamblee has to say about Eldrick:
“What has happened to Tiger Woods is really the perfect storm of destructions for an athlete. We’ve seen Tiger Woods’ golf swing decay, his body decay and this chipping decay. Once you’ve been visited by the yips, when you’re chipping, it just never goes away. There’s nothing more exciting in golf, maybe in sports than watching Tiger Woods, but there are too many hurdles to overcome.”
Chamblee has a point. You wonder if, during those California practice rounds that perhaps Woods bladed, chunked or yipped a chip here and there? Did he miss some short putts?
All those things would come under that Woods clarification of “vulnerable.”
It’s amazing how he was okay to go last Friday yet by Monday he wasn’t.

he is never going to get over it unless he gets over it—you fall off the bike and you must get right back on it—the water is cold as you stick your toes in—jump in, start swimming and you are fine. he will hit terrible shots but until he gets in “the fox hole” there is no cure—either you do or you don’t.

Tiger never used to play that many events when he was good and he still wants that formula…..Now, he’s ranked so low he isn’t eligible for any of the WGC events, so where does he play? He’s going to play in his own little “outing” which is not an event at all with a very, very small field and he can play with whom he wants…..he just didn’t want to play with Phil, that’s all this is about.

boy are we on the same wave length–they both deserve each other. what a pair of non factors. Phil “persuaded” the official yesterday like no one else on tour could what a joke he has his rules and everyone else has the real rules–what a joke he made out of that official.
