More good news for Davis Love III.
After bringing home the Ryder Cup as team captain, Love will be one of five inductees into the 2017 class for the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Love, the 1997 PGA champion, had 21 PGA Tour wins. Joining him next year at the September induction ceremonies will be Ian Woosnam, Lorena Ochoa, Meg Mallon and the late Henry Longhurst.
Woosnam was the European Tour’s Player of the Year in 1987 and 1990. He captured the 1991 Masters and won 29 times on the European Tour.
Ochoa retired from the LPGA Tour in her prime. She won 27 times in a span of just six seasons and walked away from the game at the age of 28. Mallon collected 18 wins during her LPGA career.
Henry Longhurst was the longtime British television commentator and writer. He died in 1978.
