Shanshan Feng took a look at the leaderboard after she two-putted the 53rd hole at the Toto Classic for a birdie and a three-shot lead.
It may have made her relax 15 minutes too soon.
Feng, with that birdie at the par five 17th, all but closed the door until she mucked up the final hole, forcing herself to make a nervous three-footer for a one-shot win over Ha Na Jang.
She made it for a closing 70, got to 13-under par and walked off with her second straight victory on the LPGA Tour, a career first.
She then got the customary water bottle dousing from her friends as she celebrated a career first — back to back wins.
“All my friends are so happy,” Feng said. “I saw the leaderboard when I was on 17 and I two-putted for birdie and knew I was three ahead. I didn’t like the way I finished, I left myself that three-foot putt but I told myself ‘I have to make this’ and I did.”
Feng came into the final 18 with a one-shot lead over Ariya Jutanugarn but Jutanugarn failed to mount any sort of challenge. She finished the day with a two-over par 74 that dropped her from second back into at tie for 10th at eight-under.
Lydia Ko finished two-under and tied for 43rd.
