President-elect Donald Trump is golf friendly.
He’s also real estate friendly.
Those two things are good for the future of golf.
Perhaps the PGA Tour will change it’s tune when it comes to Trump, now that he will take the oath of office in January.
You’ll recall the PGA Tour pulled on the plug on the WGC event at Doral, mainly because of what were perceived as controversial comments by Trump. Fact is, Trump made a lot of controversial comments during his campaign but controversial to whom?
Trump is a pro when it comes to value-added development. What that means is that he can take a really run-down asset like Doral and bring it back into this century. He did the same with the old Marjorie Merriweather Post mansion in Palm Beach which we know as Mar-A-Lago. It sat deteriorating for years. Every wealthy developer in the area saw it, passed on it.
Trump came in and made it a great property — again.
Now it’s back as a landmark property in Palm Beach.
A number of professional golfers have already checked in on Twitter, giving their nod of approval to the election of Trump.
Will Trump be good for golf?
He has a lot of work in front of him so hopefully he won’t spend as much time playing as the current president.
