On a day when most of the field was getting rocked by tough conditions, 21-year-old Jeunghun Wang was head and shoulders above the rest at the Nedbank Challenge.
The South Korean star put and eagle and six birdies on his scorecard Saturday at the Gary Player Country Club and came out of the third round of the Nedbank Challenge with a three-shot lead over Louis Oosthuizen.
Wang shot an amazing 64 with strong steady winds making scoring a tough task at the Sun City Center resort. He’s 11-under par through 54. “I shot eight-under on this course in this wind. I still cannot believe it,” said Wang, who is looking for his third and biggest win on the European Tour.
He’ll start the final 18 with the three-shots over the former Open champion and four in front of Andy Sullivan.
Overnight leader Alex Noren fell six behind after shooting 75.
Henrik Stenson, the points leader in the Race To Dubai, got himself back in position for a high finish. Stenson’s 69 got him to four-under par and moved him into a tie for sixth.
