As the countdown to TIUT (Tee It Up Tiger) approaches with less than 72 hours and counting, Tiger Woods is already practicing at Albany down there in the toasty Bahamas and when he heads for the first tee on Thursday at the Hero World Challenge, he’ll be sporting a new logo on his golf bag.
That’s not the only change for Woods, who comes out of a 16-month layoff to put his game on display.
He won’t be launching a Nike golf ball off the first tee.
Woods, who has been experimenting with all sorts of new equipment, may decide to put the Bridgestone 330S golf ball into play.
For now, he’ll remain with his old Nike irons although he’s been testing some TaylorMade fairway woods, and perhaps even an M2 driver on the practice tee at The Medalist in Hobe Sound over the past 30 days.
As for that new logo on the bag? It will be Monster Energy, as in the caffeine-laden drinks out there on the market. Will Tiger be chugging any Monster drinks before he plays. When you read the reviews and look at the amount of caffeine in the product, probably not.
Woods may be jittery enough without it come Thursday.
