Ladies of a certain age will now have a major championship.
LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan announced on Tuesday, the inaugural Senior LPGA Championship that will be staged July 10-12 at the French Lick Resort.
If French Lick sounds familiar, even for an out-of-the-way place, it is the hometown of NBA legend Larry Bird.
Amazing in and of itself is the fact that French Lick, Indiana, actually has a resort.
The championship will be for players 45 and up, for those willing to admit to it, never ask a woman her age, mind you.
Pick here for the early favorite is none other than Julie Inkster, who still has a lot of game at age 56.
