The PGA Tour’s most (in)famous gambler has had a lot of down time in the past couple of months.
Phil Mickelson has had not one for two hernia surgeries and has not been able to practice.
Lefty was scheduled originally to make his season debut at what used to be the Bob Hope but is now the CareerBuilders in LaQuinta. Odds are he won’t be able to play the week of January 19th but will show up to fulfill his role at tournament ambassador.
Mickelson has committed to play the following week, Jan. 26 when the tour heads to his home town of San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
Most of the big-name players will show up there, perhaps, maybe, including Tiger Woods.
