Not sure if Bubba Watson even likes to play golf.
He has this bi-polar attitude. There’s friendly Bubba then there’s butt-head Bubba. You never know what you’re gonna get with this guy.
Watson announced last week that once the playoffs end for him, he’s taking nearly five months off.
Sadly, Watson’s alive and kicking. He’s made the biggest move of anyone in the points standings at last week’s Northern Trust. He finished in a tie for 10th Sunday and has moved from outside the top 100 (113th) to 72nd on the FedEx Cup points list.
The top 100 from last week move on to the TPC Boston for this week’s Dell Championship, and yes, Bubba’s going. He doesn’t need to play all that great to make the top 70 and notch himself a spot at Conway Farms next week.
There were other big movers as well.
Harold Varner III continued his run, he moved up 32 spots, went from 123 to 91st. Will have to hustle in Boston to crack the top 70.
Robert Streb moved up 28 spots, from 79 to 51. Same for Patrick Cantlay. He went from 78 to 50.
David Lingmerth jumped 16 spots and went from 103 to 87.
