The world is used to seeing Ariya Jutanugarn at the top of a leaderboard.
Not so much for her older sister, Moriya.
It was the “other” Jutanugarn who flipped the script at the Evian Championship on Saturday. She is nine-under par after rounds of 65-68, leading by a shot over little-known Ayako Uehara, the 163rd-ranked player in the world.
Where’s Ariya? She was 18 shots behind her sister. She missed the 36-hole cut after shooting rounds of 77-74.
Katherine Kirk, who has hung around the lead for two days, starts the final round just two back of Jutanugarn after shooting 69.
The player the leaders may have to worry about most is Lydia Ko. The former world’s No. 1 is lurking at six-under par, just three off the leading heading into Sunday’s final 18.
This final major of the season has drawn a lot of fire and controversy for shortening the tournament from 72 to 54 holes.
