Christie Kerr has some extraordinary numbers to ponder.
First, she’s recently turned 40, which is in the elderly zone on today’s LPGA Tour.
Second, she now has 20 wins, thanks to an incredible 30-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole of last week’s Sime Darby Championship in Malaysia.
Third, she’s now ranked 10th in the world in the Rolex World Rankings.
Impressive numbers for a player who has now been on the LPGA Tour for 20 seasons.
“It was meant to be,” said Kerr about the winning putt on the 18th green. “What a way to win. I always said I wanted to get a win in my 40’s and I got it pretty quick.”
Kerr’s winning total was 15-under par and got her clear of what would have been a four-way playoff.
She now has accumulated 22 points toward the LPGA Hall of Fame, just five short of the required 27.
All things considered, those have to be the most stringent Hall of Fame requirements in all of sports.
