The U.S. Women will be down a player when the Solheim Cup competition begins Friday in Germany.
Alison Lee of the U.S. Team has a lingering stomach virus that she has been unable to shake and that left U.S. Captain Julie Inkster scrambling as Lee most likely won’t be available for either of the two first-day sessions.
The European team is favored in this competition that basically does not include the best players in the world — the South Koreans.
