Tiger Woods Recovery Motivator: It's His Son Charlie - Dog Leg News

About the author

Tom Edrington

Tom Edrington spent the first 10 years of his misguided youth as a sports writer for the Tampa Tribune. His career brought him face to face with many of sports greatest stars -- Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Muhammad Ali, Don Shula, countless Hall of Fame NFL stars, more PGA Tour players than he can count. In 1980 he was honored by the Golf Writers Association of America for writing the best news story that year, his coverage of Jack Nicklaus' U.S. Open victory at Baltusrol. Today, 36 years later, golf is still a great part of his life, thanks to competitive playing days and the wonderful people he has met on this fabulous journey.

This is an example of tiger giving all of us some pearls of wisdom.

As for pnc this year hopefully. Someone mentioned tiger would not have to drive the ball much because they usually use Charlie’s drives in the pnc.

Most everyone whose opinion I give credence to, says no way…..just too soon….

        It is clearly too soon.

But the Woods team clearly love that event.

There’s a small chance still otherwise that last spot would be filled already. But I agree patience should prevail.

Did you see Notah on Golf Today Wednesday?
Asked if he would be surprised if tiger were to play the pnc he said:
“I wouldn’t. No. Not at all….Tiger can ride a cart up to the ball …but also he can play Charlie’s drives…(last year) Charlie was hitting most of the drives because of where his tees were at…those are two critical things that might factor in him possibly showing up in a couple of weeks with Charlie…I know the world would love to see it.”

Notah goes on to explain why he doesn’t buy at all that Tiger will not be trying to Climb the proverbial mountain again regardless of the tempered expectations.

            I don’t believe anything Notah says….

They purposely haven’t shown Tiger walking because the guys on site said the limp is very noticeable…..he has to be able to walk properly before he can even think about playing….in the interview, Tiger said: “My leg hurts and my back hurts.” I don’t believe his back is ready for anything, even the PNC

Did you see him step off the stage after the presser? He looked solid.
He also looked good at home walking in the room to talk to Henni.
Obviously he has a ways to go but tiger can walk. And he can swing.
From my observations I believe what Notah says over Tiger.
