Finally, at last, there will be a full house of patrons for the upcoming 2022 Masters, which is just a few days more than two weeks away.
All the stands are up and ready, as seen in the above aerial photograph of Augusta National.
The number of patrons on site last year was severely limited by COVID protocols but with things beginning to return to normal, the large crowds will be back at Augusta National.
There will be noticeable changes this year.
The par four 11th and par five 15th will be 35 yards longer.
The 11th was already a long, difficult par four. If the wind blows into the players, it will be that much tougher.
The 15th has become more challenging in recent years, now going for the green will be even more treacherous. Overall, the course has been stretched to 7,475 yards.
Shaun Norris Wins Steyn City With Final Flurry:
In the “better late than never” category, South African Shaun Norris finally picked up his first DP World Tour win at the tender age of 39.
Norris was the 54-hole leader at the Steyn City Championship and began the final round with a fat four-shot lead. But fellow South African Dean Burmester made things difficult when came from behind to take a two-shot lead by the 10th hole. Things were looking a bit glum for Norris.
But Norris rallied with three birdies over his next six holes to tie Burmester for the lead.
The 17th was a huge turning point when Norris stuck his approach to four feet while Burmester badly pulled his second from 167 yards. It took Burmester four to get down from 90 feet. He made double-bogey for a three-shot swing.
Norris parred 18 for a closing 70 and a winning 25-under par total, three better than runnerup Burmester.
“I don’t think words can describe how I feel right now,” Norris said after his first victory. “It’s been a tough journey and having my brother on the bag, my wife here, my little girl – it’s splendid, I can’t explain. It’s absolutely beautiful doing this in front of my home crowd and in front of my family.
“From the word go I told my brother ‘let’s have fun, let’s actually try and feel like we’re playing back home’.”

11 35 yards longer can’t wait to see that. Walk from 10 green getting long. They may need to bring the 10th green back down by the McKenzie bunker.
I don’t know how they found 35 more yards for 15. The place is truly magical.

I cannot tell if those 3 trees on the right of the 11th fairway (in the picture) are new?
