Might be two of the best weeks in this part of the PGA Tour schedule.
Next week’s Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow is a biggie then the real biggie — The Players.
Both Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will be there. Woods and Mickelson committed to both events this week, the first appearance for both since The Masters in April.
Woods took to his Twitter account on Thursday for his announcement:
Break over. Time to get back to work at @WellsFargoGolf and @THEPLAYERSChamp. See you out there.
4:04 PM – Apr 26, 2018
Tiger has not played since he finished tied for 32nd at The Masters. A winner at Quail Hollow in 2007, Woods has not made the cut there since a fourth-place finish in 2009 and has not played in the event since 2012. He missed last year’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, recovering from his injuries.
Woods’ return to The Players will mark his first trip to TPC Sawgrass since 2015. He won on the Stadium Course in both 2001 and 2013. This will be Woods’ second back-to-back of the season, having missed the cut at the Genesis Open before finishing 12th the following week at the Honda Classic.
Woods is climbing in the world rankings. He’s now inside the top 100, getting to No. 91 in this week’s Official World Golf Rankings.
