With Christmas just a couple of short days away, perhaps you should hold off and asking for that really expensive new driver — hoping it will bring a few more yards of distance.
Today we’re heading over to the world of equipment testers — MyGolfSpy — as they’ve produced something that is sure to get everyone’s attention.
It falls under the realm of Golf Science although we believe that this “test” by the site, well, it’s not really scientific and surely isn’t indicative of a very large sampling of players.
The video says they used 15 “testers” for this distance revelation. What MyGolfSpy failed to do is basically identify the age range of the “testers” and they certainly didn’t say if they used any female “testers.”
The video brings up and tries to point out that the old “you should swing around 80 percent” with your driver is pure nonsense.
The video says that is costly players valuable distance.
It is interesting to some degree. But we can guarantee you that very few of the “testers” were over the age of 50. Also, there’s no indication of handicap range either.
Whatever the testing demographic was, the results are interesting, at the least.
Well worth a peek and you can try this out — most likely at the practice range unless you can find a course with 100-yard wide fairways and massive greens.
Good luck and Merry Christmas.
