It will be a merrier Christmas in the Adam Scott household.
After a disappointing performance in the singles at the Presidents Cup, Scott ended a winning drought that has lasted nearly four years. Last victory for Adam came at the WGC-Cadillac back in March of 2016 at Doral.
Scott prevailed this past Sunday and captured the Australian PGA Championship at Royal Pines Resort in Queensland. His winning score was 13-under par, two better than runner-up Michael Hendry of New Zealand.
The par five 15th had a lot to do with Scott’s 30th world-wide win. He eagled it three of the four rounds including the final day which allowed him the comfort of making bogey at the 72nd hole.
Scott put up rounds of 70-67-69-69.
Scott had two runner-up finishes on the PGA Tour last season — the Memorial and Farmers. He had a good playoff run. Finished fifth at the Northern Trust, tied for ninth at the BMW and solo sixth at the Tour Championship.
“I’m stoked,” Scott said after his win. “This has been a long time coming and I’m really happy to win another PGA here. It finishes off a nice year for me. It’s been a long time between drinks for me and maybe only once or twice did the thought cross my mind that I’ll never win again. It’s very difficult to win and I’m on the wrong side of this age thing now,” the 39-year-old said.
“A win makes you feel like you’re just never going to lose again,” Scott said. “I hope it helps; it’s nice to have reassurance and the belief of winning.
American Stewart Cink finished tied for 22nd while fellow American Cameron Champ tied for 27th.

I kinda like to dislike Adam. I wonder why?
But it’s so right for him to win a big event like this Down Under.

Adam Scott is one of golf’s true underachievers…..just shows how important putting really is
