Had to make it a Dog House for two this time.
We already have Sergio Garcia in residence, thanks to his destruction of multiple greens a few weeks ago in Saudi Arabia, which didn’t sit well with the Royal Family, who spent hard-earned oil money to build those greens, then spent some more to give Sergio an appearance fee to come play in their controversial event.
Sergio added more controversy with a world-class hissy-fit that saw him use his putter as a farming implement on the greens.
He said his Mea Culpas again this week in L.A. and hinted there was some sort of personal issues bothering him but didn’t care to go into detail.
Still, extremely bad behavior is still bad behavior.
So now we’re adding Adam Scott to the Dog House to keep Garcia company.
Not for bad behavior but for, well, saying stupid stuff.
First, Scott maintains that the new rule that allows players to leave the flagstick in while putting make it so much easier to make putts. Well, Scott is living proof that doesn’t work for everyone, he’s still not making putts and hasn’t won anywhere since the 2016 WGC event at Doral.
Then Scott offered himself up as a human sacrifice to the PGA Tour to try and put the spotlight on slow play. He said the tour should go ahead and penalize him just to prove they’re willing to penalize someone for slow play.
Seriously?
Makes you wonder what’s up with Scott these days.
Still has the most fabulous swing but he’s lending further proof that his mind just might be holding him back.
