Anna Nordqvist hasn’t won since the 2017 Evian Championship but she’ll have a great chance to do something about that on Sunday at the NW Arkansas Championship.
Nordqvist had the “59” watch on early on the back nine at Pinnacle Country Club and although she didn’t hit the magic number, she fired a dazzling 62 and will take a three-shot lead into Sunday’s final round.
Nordqvist wasn’t the only player who went low on moving day. Sei Young Kim’s 64 got her to 13-under, three back of Nordqvist’s 16-under par total. Nelly Korda and Jenny Shin both carded 63s and will start the day four back at 12-under along with Austin Ernst.
Justin Walters Looking For First ET Victory:
Justin Walters will try and go wire-to-wire at the Belfry Sunday as he holds the 54-hole lead at the UK Championship.
He took the lead from day one with a 64 and his 69 on moving day got him to 12-under for the championship. He has two players looking to overtake him. Martin Kaymer and Benjamin Hebert are both in at 10-under par. Kaymer had the day’s best round, a 66 while Herbert carded a 70.
Walters – who has been a runner-up three times on the European Tour, had nice start with a birdie from 20 feet at the first. The 39-year-old upped his lead with birdies at the seventh and 14th.
“I was really impressed with myself to be honest,” said Walters. “I’ve never been in this position – on a Friday I don’t think I’ve ever led a tournament – but I woke up unusually calm.
