It didn’t take long for the “Beef” to get cooking in Boise.
Andrew Johnston shot to the top of the leader board at the Boise Open Friday with a dazzling 63, good enough for a 13-under par total heading to the final 36 holes of the second stop at the Web.com finals.
“I putted nice and hit a lot of good shots,” was how Johnston quickly explained his 10-birdie day that gave him a two-shot edge over Scott Stallings and Miguel Angel Carballo.
Johnston is playing in the first three events of the Web.com finals to try and sew up a PGA Tour card.
“I want to play in the best tournaments in the U.S. and Europe,” Johnston said.”
