Former Naval officer, now PGA Tour player Billy Hurley III and his family received sad news on Friday.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s office is investigating the dead of Hurley’s father, Willard, who was found dead on Friday from what was described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Hurley is not playing in this week’s PGA Championship.
His father had gone missing last month but was later found in Texas after the family’s pleas for the public to help find him. Hurley Sr. was found in a library in Texas.
The investigation continues, but for now has been ruled a suicide.
