Billy Hurley III is one of the feel-good stories on the PGA Tour.
Former midshipman at the Naval Academy, served his country after graduation in the U.S. Navy.
Hurley earned his tour card and is working hard out on tour. He made the cut Friday at the Quicken Loans National event but he had a lot on his mind.
Hurley’s father disappeared on July 19 from Leesburg, Va., where he had served on the police force. He’s retired now but Hurley made a national plea to help him find his father.
Well, Williard Hurley Jr. turned up Friday in Texas.
This is all very, very mysterious and strange and Billy’s not talking much about the situation. But when you bring it into the national spotlight asking for a search, well, let the speculation begin.
Perhaps dad needed a getaway and went on an adventurous road trip.
Who knows?
All we know is he’s safe, alive and apparently fine.
Hey Billy, you know it’s a high-tech Navy. Stick one of those hidden GPS devices on Williard’s car and next time he’s out and about, you’ll know where to find him.
