Perhaps it should be renamed Glen Birdie.
Glen Abbey Golf Club continued to be a birdie-friendly environment Friday and Chad Campbell took full advantage of the situation. He birdied half of his holes for a 63 and a 36-hole total of 14-under par 130.
It is simply a shootout at the top of the leader board. Campbell shot himself two shots clear of lefty Brian Harman.
David Hearn is low Canadian at the halfway mark. He shot 64 and is 11-under along with Johnson Wagner, who made a run at the John Deere two weeks ago.
Pre-tournament favorite Jason Day kept himself firmly in the mix with a 66 that got him into double-digits under par.
One of the crowd’s favorite Canadian stars, Graham DeLaet, was forced to withdraw after he suffered a wrist injury on Thursday.
In keeping with the “everyone scores” theme, the cut was moving toward three-under par.
