Seems some publicity-seeking young fellas who run a certain podcast recently drew a lot of attention by reporting that Bryson DeChambeau is quitting the PGA Tour.
To which Bryson basically responded: Bull-Spit!
Actually Bryson took to his Twitter account to shoot down said report by said podcasters:
“There are many false reports going around by the media that are completely inaccurate. Any news regarding my health or playing schedule will come directly from me and my team only. This is just another inaccurate report. I look forward to getting healthy and seeing everyone soon!”
Bryson also expressed his disappointment in missing this week’s star-studded event at the Genesis Invitational:
“I am very disappointed to miss the @thegenesisinv this week at one of my favorite golf courses on tour. I am currently in the process of rehabbing a hip and hand injury, which I am making positive progress on day by day.”
You may or may not recall that Bryson was one of the PGA Tour stars who went over to the Saudi Invitational and collected a fat, seven-figure check from The Kingdom.
Sadly for the Saudis, Bryson bolted after day one thanks to that nagging wrist injury along with a left hip issue.
Now, take into consideration the aforementioned podcasters, none of whom were actually IN Saudi Arabia for the Saudi Invitational, put out that report, which was strictly here-say and it shounds totally laughable.
Everyone knows where Bryson’s bread is buttered and that’s on the PGA Tour. His sponsors want him there — you know, the good folks at Puma, Cobra and the bet-all-your money early and often site — Draft Kings.
Bryson is planning on defending his title at the Bay Hill Invitational the first week in March.
Kramer Hickok Says 17 Players Heading To Saudi Golf League, Won’t Name Names:
So while we’re talking about minor-league podcasts, Kramer Hickok, a non-winner on the PGA Tour says he knows of 17 players who would leave the PGA Tour for the fledgling Saudi Golf League.
Only problem is that Mr. Hickok isn’t naming anyone.
“You’re going to see a lot of big names jump over there. I think there have already been 17 guys that have jumped over, I can’t say who they are but there is going to be some big names going over there,” Hickok said, after finishing a whopping 53rd at the Phoenix Open.
“From what I’ve heard, the money is very, very appealing. You’re only going to have 12 to 14 events, those events are going to have huge purses and you’re not going to have to deal with missing a cut anymore. There are only going to be 40 players.”
So says Mr. Hickok.

The Bryson thing was pretty obvious.
This Hickok thing is not.
How is Hickok the most informed man in golf?
The information seems believable but hard to believe where it’s coming from. Of all people … it if it’s true maybe he is the new Rosaforte for golf. But my money is on Hickok being another one of those podcast misinformers we have so many of these days.
Morikawa said some interesting things yesterday regarding all this. Mainly that he will consider a Saudi league option open but certainly not
With so much uncertainty about practically everything associated with the new league: mainly schedule as I’ve said. Then Hickok comes out with all these details. Begs the question again Why would Hickok be so informed but not Collin?
