Bubba Watson’s been a Titleist golf ball guy.
As wacky as he can be at times, he’s been on board with the game’s most-played ball on the PGA Tour.
Come 2017 that may not be the case.
Word out of South Korea is that Bubba’s going wild and wacky next year and that would certain be in line with his personality.
The great golf ball rumor is that Watson will tee it up with those crazy-looking Volvik balls, you know, the ones that don’t sound all that great when you hit them, the ones that have that crystal-like cover, the ones you typically see folks playing who are over 70 and we don’t mean score-wise.
Chella Choi and Meena Lee from South Korea already play on the ball on the LPGA Tour. But this is Bubba Watson we’re talking about — two-time Masters champion.
The real factor in this switch might be the number being bantered around — as in $1.2 million per year. That’s what Watson could be making if he does indeed put these balls into play.
Money talks, golf balls don’t.
