We’ll simply now refer to him as Bubba The Beggar.
Bubba Watson should just shut his yap and play golf. But no, Bubba’s already all over Tiger Woods, begging for a place on the Presidents Cup coaching staff — begging to be a Vice Captain.
Maybe that’s the best place for him, at least as Ryder Cup play is concerned. The U.S. team has never won a Ryder Cup when Bubba was a player on the team. They have won with him as a Vice Captain and he basically begged his way into that role.
So Bubba’s already begging for a seat on the team plane when it heads to Australia.
”I always bug Tiger,” Watson said. ”He says, ‘You need to be playing.’ I said, ‘Look, man, we’ve never won a Ryder Cup with me playing, but we’ve won when I wasn’t playing. So me and you need to be captain and vice captains.’ That’s our joke. I’ve told him, ‘Listen, I’ll do anything to help you if you want me. If you don’t, that’s fine.”’
There you have it from Bubba The Beggar.
He can now do some begging in The Dog House.
It’s a good place for him.
