Forget San Antonio, Bubba Watson took a trip to China for one of those big, fat European Tour appearance fees last week.
The Shenzhen International was plagued by rain, nice for Bubba, he hates rain. As a result, Watson was really no factor in the championship going into Sunday. He was only four-under par and 10 behind the leaders.
Bubba finally decided to give it a go for the final 18 and shot a six-under par 66 that jumped him into a tie for eighth.
Eighth place on the European Tour doesn’t pay squat compared to the same finish on the PGA Tour.
Bubba’s finish earned him about 53,000 Euros which is a shade under $60,000 U.S.
Good thing he hauled in a hefty six-figure show-up check.
