It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas is nearly upon us and probably the hardest people to shop for are some of the big names in golf. After all, these players have virtually everything they want. Except, well, maybe not exactly so we’re here with some suggestions that probably fall outside of the realm of Santa Claus. Doesn’t matter, here’s a few things that we’d like to see happen for these well-known players in the world of golf.
Jordan Spieth: A PGA Championship that gives Jordy the Career Grand Slam at the age of 25.
Rory McIlroy: A Masters Championship that gives Rory the Career Grand Slam at the age of 28. Two active Career Grand Slam winners, totally incredible.
Tiger Woods: A captain’s pick spot on the 2018 Ryder Cup Team. You know he wants that really bad.
Phil Mickelson: One more PGA Tour victory for Lefty. Wishful thinking but Bob Geismar plays The Grinch and won’t let Lefty have it.
Lexi Thompson: Two major championships in 2018. Totally possible because they’ve done away with any possibility of a repeat four-shot penalty.
Dustin Johnson: A one-story house to live in for Masters week.
Justin Thomas: A U.S. Open victory, just to show that his 2017 season was no fluke.
Rickie Fowler: Finally, a major — Rickie wins the Open Championship (The Masters, U.S. Open and PGA are already taken).
Hideki Matsuyama: A book on conversational English.
Jason Day: An injury-free season.
Sergio Garcia: Nothing — Santa already delivered last year at the 2017 Masters.
Jon Rahm: Serenity on the golf course.
Justin Rose: The 2018 FedEx Cup championship.
Tommy Fleetwood: A victory on the PGA Tour.
Charley Hoffman: A PGA Tour victory after holding the 54-hole lead.
Patrick Cantlay: A spot in the top 30 in the World Rankings.
Peter Uihlein: A PGA Tour victory and a contract proposal from TaylorMade.
Patrick Reed: A blue shirt and grey slacks to wear on Sundays, compliments of Tiger Woods.
Tony Finau: A dialed-in short game to go with that monster length.
Stacy Lewis: Another LPGA win for the only player in golf who won last year and gave the entire purse away.
Xander Schauffele: Another victory this season for last year’s Rookie Of The Year.
Paul Casey: A PGA Tour victory — please, please, please, Santa!
Bubba Watson: Coal in his stocking.
Bryson DeChambeau: A science kit.
Brandt Snedeker: A comeback.
Kiradech Aphibarnrat: A spot in all four majors.
Kevin Na: A victory for goodness sakes.
Keegan Bradley: A playoff loss for the New England Patriots.
Adam Scott: Just one final season of good putting.
Henrik Stenson: A duel down the stretch with Rickie Fowler at the Open Championship, but alas, Rickie prevails.
John Daly: A senior major.
Bernhard Langer: A map to the Fountain Of Youth, oh wait, he’s already got that.
Michelle Wie: More skimpy outfits and a major championship.
That should keep Santa busy the next few days as we count down to Christmas.
…..and I heard him exclaim as he rode out of sight: Merry Christmas To All and To All A Good Night….

Tom,
These are great. My only suggestions are:
(1) Give Lefty the US Open (if he can’t catch that lightning in a bottle, Justin Thomas as an encore or Rickie would be great).
(2) For us viewers and fans – some titanic duels in 2018 featuring all the guys you listed, with DJ and Jason Day bouncing back to show why they are who they are/were.

Thanks RM, hope Santa is good to you…..I think Phil’s window of opportunity at the U.S. Open has been closed and locked securely….
