You read a lot about golf clubs having financial troubles these days.
Apparently the Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables is not one of them.
In fact, it looks like the fat cats down there are rolling in dough.
First, the club spent $10 million a while back on a little course renovation. That’s typically more than it costs to build a nice course from scratch.
As if that wasn’t enough, the next project was a new 60,000 square foot, two-story clubhouse to the tune of $37 million. But of course that included a swanky new pool and cabana complex as well.
So apparently all is well down there in the Gables.
The rich evidently are richer than you think.
