Used to be the Nike Tour.
Used to be the Hogan Tour.
Used to be the Nationwide Tour.
Used to be the Buy.com Tour.
Up until yesterday it was the Web.com Tour.
That tour where young guys go to prove themselves and old guys go to pasture, where young guys earn their tour cards and old guys delay the inevitable, there’s once again a new name.
How about the Korn Ferry Tour?
When we first heard it, couldn’t stop laughing — thought it was the Corn Fairy Tour.
Perfect.
Actually Korn Ferry is some sort of business consulting company and if they’re good consultants, they’d probably want to consider a name change for their own company. So this group is the latest to step up and shell out big money to be the umbrella sponsor for the old Nike/ Hogan/ Nationwide/ Buy.com/Web.com Tour.
What’s in a name?
You’ll have to ask the Corn Fairy.
