It’s raining birdies down in the Bahamas, a lot of them at the Hero World Challenge.
On a course made for low scores, Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama were perfectly happy to go low after 36 holes at the Albany Resort.
Johnson shot 66 for the second straight day to get to 12-under par and Matsuyama joined him after adding 67 to his day one 65.
Matt Kuchar and Louis Oosthuizen got into double-figures under par at 10-under. Both have identical rounds of 67-67.
The day’s best effort went to Bubba Watson. The defending champion had a pair of eagles on the front nine on his way to shooting 29 going out. The 59 watch started until he bogeyed the par three 12th and failed to birdie the easy par five 15th. Still, Watson shot 63 and moved to nine-under and in contention for the weekend.
Brandt Snedeker’s 64 got him to eight-under, solo sixth.
Host Tiger Woods, who went out first by himself, had a superb day with a bogey-free 65 that got him to six-under.
