Danny Willett won’t be in Boston this week for the Deutsche Bank.
He’s done for the season over here, you can check him out at the Ryder Cup matches in a few weeks.
So why the bum’s rush for Boston?
Simple — Willett is the defending champion at this week’s stop on the European Tour — the Omega European Masters.
He is already the American Masters champion, so why not defend on his home tour?
Did we mention that the event is staged at Crans-sur-Sierre with the majestic Alps dominating the scenery?
Which would you rather have, the Charles River or the Swiss Alps?
That’s a tough one but Willett’s doing the right thing.
He was No. 75 on the FedEx Cup points list and could have easily advanced, no doubt.
But defending champs are defending champs.
It’s the right thing to do.

I completely agree and Danny has displayed a great sense of loyalty throughout his career. The right thing to do indeed.

Danny played well and shot 64 on Sunday and tied for 12th, getting ready for the Ryder Cup, no doubt.
