Hard to fathom this one but Sports Business Journal is reporting that CBS has chosen not to renew the contract of golf color commentator David Feherty.
John Ourand wrote the story detailing that CBS and Feherty couldn’t agree on his role in the network coverage. Feherty is an on-course reporter who dazzles with his wit and personality.
Feherty hosts his own show on the Golf Channel titled Feherty. He conducts in-depth, behind the scenes interviews with some of the golf world’s biggest icons.
NBC owns the Golf Channel and it’s probably a good bet that Feherty could land a spot with the Peacock network. NBC does tour events and has the broadcast rights to the Ryder Cup and the upcoming Olympics.
