Runnin’ on empty.
Don’t care.
We’re here, in Scotland, in amazing Edinburgh.
Jet lag has set in and thank goodness we have a day to recover before we take on some of the famous and finest links courses in Scotland.
Nearly eight hours in a huge Boeing 777 from Tampa to Gatwick, a dreadfully outdated airport. Then a testy ride in London area traffic to Heathrow, one of the world’s busiest hubs. The airport is home to every upscale retailer in the world from Hermes to Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Rolex, Harrod’s, you name it they’re all here ready to suck up money like a massive retail vacuum.
Missed our connection to Edinburgh but got another an hour later.
Finally we’re here.
Massive Edinburgh Castle towers over the landscape looking totally invasion-proof.
Everywhere you turn you can see that this place dates back to the 1200s. Structures older than anything I’ve seen in person.
We need a day off to prepare.
We have some of the world’s finest links courses waiting for us.
Scottish weather did not disappoint. Cool, cloudy, rainy, but not monsoon rains, that wonderful U.K. drizzle.
Time to go for now..
The jet lag has me in its grip.
The links are callin’ but first it is time to recharge the batteries.
Monday we’ll have tales from Kingsbarns and North Berwick.
Cheers.
