Want a nice vacation in the mountains?
Don’t have to leave your living room. You can simply tune into this week’s coverage of the European Tour and catch some world-class views and vistas.
The European Masters is being staged at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana, Switzerland.
The backdrop is stunning.
Hard not to want to play some great golf and the World’s Most Interesting Man — Miguel-Angel Jimenez was the man for the job on opening day at the European Masters.
The cigar-puffing, wine-sipping, crazy warmup, age-defying golfer from Spain had one heckuva first day in the mountains. Jimenez, at age 53, came up with seven birdies and grabbed a share of the lead with a six-under par 64.
A good thirty years older than his co-leaders, Jimenez looks like one of those timeless stars. Tyrrell Hatton from the U.K. and Aussie Scott Hend were at the top with Miguel.
American Julian Suri, who got his break-through win two weeks ago, continued his excellent play with an opening 67.
