The European Tour is winding down its 2018 season, finally.
Last week Louie Oosthuizen captured the South African Open for the first time in his career and, in the process, ended his winless drought. It was nearly three years between championships for the former Open champion.
Louie’s one of the bigger names in the field this week in Malelane, South Africa at the Leopard Creek Golf Club for the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Defending champion is Brandon Stone and there are a few name players scattered about the otherwise nameless field packed with up-and-coming South African players. Former Masters champ Charl Schwartzel’s there, so is Ernie Els.
After Sunday, the European Tour will take an extended holiday break and will re-convene in Abu Dhabi on January 16 for the HSBC Championship, one of their larger Rolex events.
