Shanshan Feng has been one of the hottest players on the LPGA Tour the past six weeks and she’s still got it going on.
Feng fired an eight-under par 64 Saturday at the Toto Classic to take a one-shot lead over Ariya Jutanugarn into Sunday’s final round.
She had a perfect eight-birdie, no bogey day and birdies at the last two holes gave her a 31 coming home.
Jutanugarn, bidding to become Player of the Year, added a 68 to her opening-round 66.
Suzanne Pettersen and Soo-Yun Kang put up 66s and found themselves tied for third at nine-under par.
Feng, last week’s winner, is looking to go back-to-back for the first time in her career.
“Actually, I’ve never done that,” said Feng. “I’ve won 16 times as a pro but I’ve never won back-to-back so it would be great if that happens.”
Win or lose on Sunday, Jutanugarn will pull ahead of Lydia Ko in the race for all the 2016 post-season honors. Ko’s 71 left her at one-over par and tied for 52nd.
