In two weeks, the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs was supposed to host a PGA Tour event.
That might not happen.
The state of West Virginia has been devastated by torrential flooding, so much that there has been major destruction to property and lives have been lost.
“It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen,” said Greenbrier owner Jim Justice, but he followed that up with his concern for the victims of the flooding. “Our focus isn’t on the property, the golf course or anything else. We’re praying for the people and doing everything we can to get them the help they need.”
Six to eight inches of rain hit the county on Thursday. A state of emergency exists.
Right now, no one’s even thinking about golf.
