Francesco & Sergio may sound like a new restaurant open for business in Dubai but it is actually the two players at the top of the DP World Tour Championship.
After 36 holes, it’s Francesco Molinari and Sergio Garcia leading the pack at nine-under par, both have identical rounds of 68-67.
First round leader Lee Westwood stayed close to them, shooting 70 and getting to eight-under at the halfway mark at Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth course.
Low round of the day belonged to Tyrrell Hatton. His 66 put him in a group of four players at seven-under par.
All of the points leaders improved on day two. Third place points getter Alex Noren was the best of the bunch, he’s in contention at four-under par (71-69) while overall leader Henrik Stenson and second-place Danny Willett were in at three-under.
Rory McIlroy cut seven shots off his opening round 75 and produced a 68 that got him to one-under par and not totally out of the competition.
