Gary Woodland has been an equipment free agent for a while now.
Woodland was once a Callaway guy but split from the company at the end of 2015.
In 2016 he had a deal with TaylorMade, playing the woods only.
Last year he used Titleist irons, wedges and the golf ball.
This week Woodland showed up at the Hero World Challenge with a set of Wilson Staff prototype blade irons in his bag. This is the time of year when players make changes, often looking for a better contract when it comes to equipment. The biggest name to change so far has been Justin Rose, who is in the field this week as well. Rose previously revealed that he’s leaving TaylorMade in favor of Honma, an Asian brand that is hardly a household name in the rest of the world.
Rose, who could regain the No. 1 ranking in the world this week, opened with a 70 on Thursday while Woodland shot an uneventful 72.
