It is hard to imagine that Glenn Frey has left us.
But he did not leave us alone.
He left a Hall Of Fame music legacy and a love for golf that helped make the game cool.
Frey’s passing hit home in the music world but also left a hole in the hearts of many golfers who were fortunate to cross paths with him.
Here’s a short sample from some of those who remembered him:
Rocco Mediate: “Sad to hear of Glenn Frey’s passing. Wonderful guy. Wonderful family.
Brad Faxon: “RIP Glenn Frey. Great husband, great father, great man, great to be able to call him a friend.”
Jason Gore: “A piece of my heart and youth passed today when I heard the news of Glenn Frey. Grew up listening to him and The Eagles.”
Cristie Kerr: “RIP Glenn Frey, friend. Best musician of all time.”
Frey was only 67 years old when he passed away on Monday. He had become a fixture at some of the tour stops like the old Crosby, now called the AT&T Pro-Am. He was a member at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles and carried a 12-handicap. He could play but his golf paled in comparison to his music.
He was a member of the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame and those who knew him will tell you he was a Hall of Fame guy as well.
