What do you do after you shoot 60 in a PGA Tour event?
If you are Si Woo Kim, you shoot 64.
That’s what the 36-hole leader of the Wyndham Classic did on Saturday in Greensboro. He continued his all-out birdie assault on the Sedgefield Country Club with a six-under par effort that got him to 18-under par after 54 holes.
He’s four shot clear of his closest competitor and that would be Rafael Cabrera-Bello of Spain, who is pondering potential membership on the PGA Tour. He’s been a staple on the European Tour and just represented Spain in the Olympic Games.
Bello’s 65 left him at 14-under, far behind the dazzling Kim.
Kim is a graduate of the Web.com Tour and is ranked 115th in the world, 43rd in the FedEx Cup standings, which means he will go right into the playoffs next week.
Two big name players — Luke Donald and Jim Furyk — are five back at 13-under. Donald threw in a 64 while Furyk recorded a third-round 67.
When you look at the low scores, the players at 12-under may have a shot, depending on how low Kim goes on Sunday.
Graeme McDowell, Brandt Snedeker, Hideki Matsuyama and Billy Horschel are all in at 12-under par.
