The only thing more traumatic than Dustin Johnson’s 72nd hole three-putt last summer at the U.S. Open was Fox Television’s horrible coverage of America’s tournament.
It was the action and the setting at Chambers Bay that made up for the network’s inexperience when it comes to golf coverage.
Now Links Magazine is telling us that Fox has given Greg Norman the bum’s rush and has booted The Great White Shark from his role as lead analyst.
Sorry, but Fox basically needs to give it’s entire cast the boot, Joe Buck included.
The golf-bumbling folks at Fox may be good at football, but when it came to the U.S. Open, they hacked up the week at Chambers Bay like an 18-handicapper.
The immediate chatter in the aftermath of the jettison of Norman is the rumor that Fox may be after Paul Azinger to replace Norman.
Not sure that Zinger can save Fox from itself.
